The Applications of Carbide Insert Knives

The carbide inserts have become more and more popular, because tehy can be used everywhere in woodworking.But where exactly can we use it?

1.Cutterheads

carbide inserts can be mounted on cutterheads for various machines, such as jointers, planers, molders, edge banding machines, etc. These inserts are made from solid tungsten carbide with great wear and high-temperature resistance, excellent cutting performance, and extended service life. In addition, when one cutting edge is dull or damaged, you can turn it into a new edge. Carbide insert knives have many sizes and shapes, 15mm*15mm*2.5mm is one of the most commonly used sizes.

2.Woodturning inserts

Woodturning inserts are also made from solid carbide. There are basically three shapes of woodturning inserts: square, round, and diamond.

3.CNC insert router bits

Unlike conventional router bits whose carbide cutters are brazed into the heads, CNC insert router bits are equipped with carbide insert knives. When the inserts are dull, we can change new inserts instead of throwing away the bit. Similar to moulding knives, these inserts have many shapes and sizes for different profiling purposes.
